Tibby or Tibbs as i sometimes called her was a Female British Short Haired who crossed the rainbow bridge at the ripe old age of 19.5 years.
Tibby was a cat full of character, in a way you could say she was a cat with multiable personalitiys,
there was Tibbs the friendly, cuddly cat that loved every one, just fussing, licking and purring, wanting to be fuss and cuddled back, Then there is the teaser Cat that would have my young sons at the time on the brink of giggles or tears as she would run off with the toys they were playing with, even chasing the scalextric cars around the track knocking them off then running off with them. other times she would pull there socks from there hands as they were getting dressed, Then there was Tibby the provider, always proudly bring her catch home to share with her family, her take-aways as the boys called them were interesting as we live on the edge of a small country town, We have had a live squirrel running around the living room, along with birds, mice and once a rat all live she never brought anything dead though the fan window, once i even found a 3ft grass snake in the living room, how the hell she got that one up and in the small window alive , and you can guess the fun i had trying to keep 2 small boys, a pup lab and tibbs away so i could grab it,
Then there was Tibbs the terror, to her dogs were to be tolerated only. but she would also stalk and prowl on them at times, German Shepards being one of her peeves, which was very unlucky for the bloke that walked his passed our house every day, enough was enough and one day he was banging on my front door with his dog howling and shakeing beside him, yelling at me that my cat had got his dog again, and he was calling the police and pressing charges!, To prove his point Tibbs rushed passed me landing on his dog's back and giving it yet another hideing, it was funny to see him and his dog running up the road with Tibbs close behind, i guess she took it personally that they came into her front garden, and another time i got a letter from the post office asking to keep her under control or they would refuse to deliver the post, i guess there fingers were just to temping wiggling in the letter box,
Then there was Tibbs the gardian of all washing lines!
when anyone was hanging out washing Tibbs would rush out from her hidyhole and bite you on the back of the ankles, I myself was inculded in this ritual, which was quite painful, i soon learnt to call" Tibbs Tibbs" while hanging out the washing as she had a very loud bell on her coller and she also called back to me when i called her, i then new which way she would stike from!
Over the years me and Tibby have been together i have moved many times and Tibbs settled well, at her last move to Norfolk old Tibbs though she had hit the Jack pot, as we moved near a village pond with Ducks walking about everywhere, to Tibbs they were just Bigger ,Bigger birds, and decided to bring one home for the family ( still the provider at 19 )
so there was Tibbs with a live Drake in her mouth trying to climb up over a 5ft chain fence, Well old Tibbs is not as strong as she used to be and after a long battle attemping to get the duck over, she finally had to amitt defeat and give up ,once letting go of the duck it then turned around and gave her a good hiding much to the amusment of Tibbs who had to make a dash home, In 1997 Tibbs health took a sudden turn for the worse, and she was rushed to the vets, they belived her organs were failing and she had fluid around her heart, which they put a drain in to remove the fluid, they told me to take her home and sadley they said it was a matter of just 3 - 4 months, Well my Tibbs begged to differ, she would'nt slow down or take it easy like most OAC's at her aged.
And in 2001 as i held her for the last time in my arms My Tibbs was Put to sleep, Tibbs had 3 Kittens who all went to very good homes,
but sadley Tibby outlived all her kittens by a large time spam.
Yes my Tibbs is sadley missed, but boy did we have a wonderful 19.5 years together, and i would'nt change a thing if i had that time together again with her,
Bless you Tibby

WILD AND FREE
(P J Quick)
♥I hope you're running wild and free now you have gone to eternity,♥
♥Free from pain and young again as once you used to be.♥
♥I hope you're running wild and free, as free as the wind in the trees,♥
♥Playing and purring in ecstasy, or sleeping and dreaming at ease
♥I hope you're running wild and free, as free as the clouds in the sky,♥
♥Rushing excitedly, a kitten again, with eyes as blue as the sea.♥
♥I hope you're running wild and free, sometimes maybe remembering me,♥
♥For I know the time will come one day when we'll both be wild and free.♥

Old friend

Well old girl, i still think of the old days, and how
we have turned the pages of many years together, I watched you grow from a playful kitten into a wonderful, playful friend, that stayed by my side, no matter what, which is unusal for a cat, even that nigth when we were shut out in the cold together, hideing you stayed cuddled into me all nigth keeping me warm,
I watched the years take its toll on you, and as much as i miss you , i would not wish you back here, old and tired,
One day the sun will be shining and we will all be together again, You, me, Jet and Willow, playing along with family members, and watching over the hill, for other loved ones coming to join us,
One day. xxx

Tibbs in charge

I remember at one time when i had 14 dogs togeather all rescued, and a number of cats running around the place, and Tibbs took charge, my son would laugth as i called the dogs for dinner, and not one would come to me which was odd as they all loved there food, then you would hear them whimpering and crying, but still no dogs came to me , when i would go to look for them , i would always find Tibbs sitting in the doorway dearing them to go passed her, the dogs just stood there wimpering at me. and the one closest to her having a few blood spots on here nose as she had tapped them one to say stay back, you go when im finished here! oh yes when it came to my dogs she was a little bugger, and they all gave way to her and her wimms.

What a character Tibbs sounds. I enjoyed reading your tribute to her. She was a lovely looking cat (I love tabbies). I bet shes causing mayhem at Rainbow Bridge (lol). My Lucy lived to 18 years and she like your Tibbs gave me the best 18 years. RIP Tibbs hope you made friends with Lucy. xx
